Do you roll your eyes when you hear a cliche about "being in the present" or "living in the moment"? I do. There's a very good reason people don't want to live in the moment.
The "moment" is often very unpleasant. There's plenty of stress, frustration, difficult people and hard situations to deal with in the moment. Why in the world would you want to be in that very unpleasant place? Isn't it better to strategize and focus your mind and efforts on the future so that maybe, someday, "the moment" will be enjoyable?
